Master of Counselling

Athabasca University’s online Master of Counselling meets the graduate academic requirements for professional counsellors or counselling psychologists. This program includes 400 hours of practicum time.

Master of Health Studies

Prepare for a leadership position in the health system with the Master of Health Studies. This online program will give you the skills to:

  • discern emerging trends
  • provide leadership in health service planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • manage change
  • critique and develop health and social policy
  • develop successful research and project proposals

Master of Nursing

Whether you want to move into a leadership position in health care or broaden the nursing services you can provide, our online Master of Nursing program is for you. This program has 2 streams:

  • the Generalist stream prepares you for leadership, teaching, or research positions in the health system
  • the Nurse Practitioner stream gives theoretical and clinical preparation for your advanced nursing practice

Graduate Diploma in Counselling

The online Graduate Diploma in Counselling focuses on the fundamentals of counselling psychology, theory, and practice. If you do not want to complete a full master's degree or do not meet the admission criteria for AU’s Master of Counselling program, this program is for you.

Post-Master’s Diploma Nurse Practitioner

Get the skills you need to work as a community-based nurse practitioner with AU’s online Post-Master’s Diploma Nurse Practitioner.

This program does not prepare you to work in acute care settings or focus on a clinical specialty.
