Portfolio approaches
Two portfolio routes
Program-based portfolio route
Program-based portfolios* use a Learning Summary to identify and credit knowledge and skills in your field. The credits you earn may be applied to the degree you want but do not, usually, prevent you from taking required or elective courses.
Course-based portfolio route
Course-based portfolios* use a Competency Worksheet as a means of presenting your knowledge. Portfolios that require this route will be used to align your learning with the specific learning outcomes of the course(s) you are targeting in your portfolio.
*At AU, faculty members determine the PLAR route that is needed. View the Portfolio Criteria to discover the route for your program. You may also contact plarinquiries@athabascau.ca to clarify your portfolio route.
