Mobile Learning

Develop knowledge and skill in learning theory and design as it relates to course and program delivery to anyone, anywhere. You may be interested in this focus area if you want to expand your knowledge in access to learning, mobile technologies, and the applicable mobile instructional and learning design and delivery.

The Mobile Learning focus area emphasizes:

  • technologies available in distance education and training contexts
  • capabilities, demands, and limitations of tools for distance applications
  • research on mobile learning affordances and challenges
  • existing mobile learning solutions, including strategies, technologies, and materials
  • mobile learning instructional strategies that integrate existing learning and teaching theories
  • instructional design frameworks and/or models in a mobile learning instructional design context
  • mobile learning technologies for individual mobile learning contexts
  • cost-benefit and return on investment (ROI) analysis

Courses

Master of Education graduate program students choosing a focus area may do so through the course-based or thesis route. To qualify for a focus area, students must complete all core and prescribed electives for either the course-based or thesis routes, as well as declare their selection with the MEd program administrator.
