K-12 Online and Blended Learning

The K-12 Online and Blended Learning focus area will develop knowledge and skill in the current context of K-12 education spaces as applied to technology-enabled, innovative curriculum design and delivery. You will find this to be of interest if you are involved at any level of K-12 education delivery.

The K-12 Online and Blended Learning focus area emphasizes:

  • openness in an educational context
  • Open Educational Resources (OERs) from the design to delivery phases of learning
  • prominent intellectual property and copyright systems
  • the development of inclusive practices
  • strategies of inclusiveness in teaching practice
  • effective strategies for the application of inclusive practice in the classroom and educational workplace
  • technologies available in distance education and training contexts
  • capabilities, demands, and limitations of tools for distance applications

Courses

Master of Education graduate program students choosing a focus area may do so through the course-based or thesis route. To qualify for a focus area, students must complete all core and prescribed electives for either the course-based or thesis routes, as well as declare their selection with the MEd program administrator.
