Instructional Design

Develop knowledge and skills in learning theory, learning design, and technology-enabled instructional innovation. This focus area will be of interest to you if you are passionate about course and program development, including training design, and delivery.

The Instructional Design focus area emphasizes:

  • program evaluation models, research, and scientific measurement
  • management of an educational project
  • instructional design theories and frameworks
  • the use of established and alternative instructional design models
  • Universal Design for Learning principles
  • instructional design philosophy statements
  • future trends in instructional design

Courses

Master of Education graduate program students choosing a focus area may do so through the course-based or thesis route. To qualify for a focus area, students must complete all core and prescribed electives for either the course-based or thesis routes, as well as declare their selection with the MEd program administrator.
