Jacqueline Mann has been teaching with Athabasca University (AU) Bachelor of Nursing program since 2013. Her clinical teaching experience is with adults requiring acute care. She started her teaching career teaching licensed practical nurses at NorQuest College. This is where she found her love for teaching. She believes her time at NorQuest College helped her to have a good understanding of the Post LPN to BN student. She completed her Master of Nursing with a Teaching Focus degree through AU. This degree has set her up nicely to understand the intricacies involved with distance learning.
The favorite aspect of Jacqueline’s job at AU is the acute care clinical teaching course. Her clinical lead role within the Post LPN BN program allows her to mentor other clinical instructors to utilize the post LPN student’s previous nursing experience so that together all we can further develop the important concepts of critical thinking and clinical judgement skills.
