MBA partnerships

The Faculty of Business is committed to building relationships with organizations and associations that benefit our Master of Business Administration (MBA) students professionally.

Canadian College of Health Leaders

CCHL is a national, non-profit, professional association dedicated to developing, promoting, advancing, and recognizing excellence in health leadership. Eligible Canadian health care professionals can receive credit toward the Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation while completing the MBA program.

AU-FB and SCMA are committed to developing strategic business leaders who combine innovative management leadership skills with superior supply chain management knowledge. If you hold a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, you can receive transfer credit that may allow you to finish your MBA program up to 6 months faster.

Athabasca University's online MBA for executives allows you to enhance your knowledge and skills to set new goals, take on new projects, and think strategically about your industry, organization, and role within it. Princess Auto

The Faculty of Business and Princess Auto have partnered to enhance Princess Auto’s internal staff development program. Key personnel are taking Athabasca University business courses ranging from undergraduate level to MBA, including our leadership courses.

Undergraduate partnerships and collaborations

These partnerships and collaborations allow our undergraduate learners to further their educational achievements in a variety of areas.

The Western Hockey League (WHL) Partnership

This partnership helps some of North America’s best young hockey players pursue a post-secondary education while playing the sport. The partnership improves WHL player access to university-level courses both during and after their time in the league. WHL clubs cover the cost of AU courses as part of the comprehensive WHL Education and Scholarship program offered to all players.

The Canadian Football Players League Players Association (CFLPA) Partnership

AU is the official education provider for CFL players—both past and present—giving players the chance to further their university education while working around busy football schedules. The costs for some undergraduate courses are covered by the CFLPA as part of the comprehensive CFL Education and Scholarship program offered to all players.

Transfer credit partnerships

AU accepts transfer credit for courses completed through a number of professional organizations. You can get information on current credit awards from the below organizations through our transfer credit database.

Appraisal Institute of Canada

AU accepts Appraisal Institute of Canada courses taken for credit with the University of British Columbia Real Estate Division toward our business degrees.

Canadian Institute of Financial Planning

Some courses from the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning’s Certified Financial Planner™ program are transferable to Athabasca University's Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Commerce programs. Credit may also be reviewed for the Life License Qualification and Canadian Investment Funds courses if taken directly through IFIC.

Canadian Management Institute

AU accepts the Canadian Management Institute’s Chartered Manager (CMgr) designation for admission to the online MBA program if students also have management experience.
