Wendy Jewell

Wendy is an Undergraduate Student Support Advising Specialist in the Faculty of Science & Technology. She is responsible for responding to student queries via telephone, chat and email regarding university policies and procedures and other advice pertaining to programs and courses. She is a student advocate and strives to be a good listener and will provide direction when needed. She strives to promote a positive experience for students and prospective students with Athabasca University.

Wendy has been with Athabasca University since 1984 in various roles and a wealth of knowledge. She attended Alberta College, studied Northern Lakes College courses and completed Athabasca University courses, which enables her to understand the challenges that students face in pursing their education.

Wendy has always resided in the Athabasca Community. She volunteered to sit on the Athabasca Physician Recruitment & Retention Committee in the capacity of Secretary on the executive. She is an active member of the AUPE (Alberta Union of Provincial Employees) Local at Athabasca University as Chair, and Union Steward, which represents approximately 295 support staff members.

Her personal interests are gardening and reading. Her favorite pass time is spending it with her grandchildren.
