Mara Metz

Mara is a Student Support and Advising Specialist with the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), serving as a key point of contact for both prospective and current students. She provides tailored guidance on course offerings, and enrolment and connects students with learning resources. Working alongside a high-performing team, she helps bridge the gap between students and their professors, academic experts, and advisors, while also collaborating across departments.

Her passion for fostering student success began during her time teaching Conversational English in Japan, while completing her Bachelor of Business in Marketing at Mount Royal University. Mara’s dedication to student growth continued as she supported Engineering Co-op students with Work Integrated Learning initiatives at the University of Alberta.

When she’s not at work, Mara enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and sharing her culinary creations on Instagram. She values quality time with loved ones and recharges in nature, with her SCARS rescue dog, Kona.
