Our purpose

Our purpose is to provide a single, accessible contact point for students and other members of the University community who require assistance with problems concerning services to students. The Ombuds Office seeks to ensure that all members of the University community receive fair and equitable treatment.

The Ombuds Office operates in an advisory capacity only, relying on the co-operation and goodwill of students and staff in order to achieve fair solutions to problems. The Ombuds Staff have two powers: the power to investigate and the power to recommend.

The Ombuds Office is not a substitute for seeking help or information through normal University channels.
