Why Study Spanish?

Spanish is an official language in Spain, Mexico and most nations of Central and South America, is the 3rd most spoken language in the world after Chinese and English, and an official language of the United Nations. Worldwide, Spanish is the mother tongue of approximately 350 million people in 21 countries.  Due to it’s rising popularity, nearly 500 million people worldwide speak Spanish today.

More reasons to study Spanish

  • Spanish-speaking countries are popular tourist destinations, visited by millions of people every year; knowing Spanish helps anyone planning to visit Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica or other well-liked vacation spots.
  • The growth of Hispanic population and economies translates into enhanced career opportunities for those who are able to effectively interact with Hispanic co-workers, employees, clients and customers.
  • Speaking and understanding Spanish will give you a chance to get to know people from Spain and Latin America, their cultures, and histories, whether you travel for work, study, or pleasure.
