Heritage Resources Management - Special projects and partnerships

The Heritage Resources Management program has engaged in a number of special projects and partnerships, including the following.

External partnerships

  • The Historical Resources Intern Program (HRIP), a unique partnership with the Government of Alberta's Ministry of Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women wherein HRM programs are delivered to interns working at Alberta historic sites, museums, and archives.
  • The Canada-Mozambique Heritage Intern Program (CMHIP). Under this international development partnership project, the HRM program hosted student and faculty visiting from Mozambique to build capacity to offer heritage training in the developing world.

Projects

  • The Heritage Resources Management program has been a proud supporter of AU's Digiport, Athabasca University Library's Digitization Portal. The Digiport features a growing inventory of online materials, many of which feature cultural or natural heritage materials and collections.
  • Athabasca University Archives has recently acquired significant cultural heritage collections, and the Heritage Resources Management program was pleased to have a role in assisting with the procurement of some of this material. Collections can be viewed on the Digiport.
