I have been teaching English literature and composition since 1990 and have worked as a tutor at AU since 2006. Although my literature speciality is in Canadian dramatic literature, over the years, I have taught in other areas: the novel and short story, poetry, crime & conspiracy fiction, technical writing, and composition (writing). Above all else, I value working closely with my students to help them navigate and succeed in English 255 and English 211. My goal as a tutor is to provide the best service I can, which means being communicative, being timely with responses to email, being on target with marking deadlines, being detail-oriented, being a good listener, being attuned to student needs and sensitive to their issues, while being accommodating to students' various styles of communication and interaction. In recognition of my service, I was honored to be the recipient of the 2018 PATME award. In my spare time, I enjoy long-distance chats with my adult children, reading, cooking, watching Nordic Noir crime television (and any other kind of outstanding series/films), spending time with family and friends, being a foster home for Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS), and, of course, snuggling my kitties (and occasionally my husband).
