My teaching develops principles of literary analysis and practical learning. Through careful attention to the craft and themes of literature, I work with students to explore how individuals and cultures express themselves. My approach allows students to understand important literary and social debates: how do we to understand the humanities? What problems and answers are possible in English studies? How do we derive aesthetic experience or intellectual content from literature? How do technique and context work to inspire or constrain a writer? Supporting literary analysis, the practical learning aspect of my pedagogy commits to a learning environment that is as transparent and dynamic as possible.
