An Individualized Study Tutor at Athabasca University since 2005, Melanie teaches across the History and Women's and Gender Studies departments. Her portfolio of AU Courses include: HIST-HUMN-RELS313, HIST-HUMN-CLAS312, HIST367, HIST404, WGST201, WGST320, WGST422.

Background education, research, and teaching spans: Medieval and Early Modern including some Art History, Religion and Culture, Science and Medicine, Britain (early to 20th century), World War II and the Holocaust, Gender and Women’s history. Past course design and teaching includes an AU course: Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies and two youth-university courses: Medieval Pilgrimmages (at UofA), and Medieval Mysticism and the Witchcrazes (at Queen’sU). Theory and methodology approaches include: social, cultural, intellectual, and gender.
