I graduated law school in 1999 and worked as a litigator at large law firms in New York City and San Francisco. I specialized in patent and antitrust litigation, with a related practice in licensing and opinion work.

I have been a legislative counsel with the Department of Justice in Canada since 2011. I have drafted legislation to implement multiple international treaties into domestic law, as well as legislation pertaining to nuclear liability, intellectual property, national defence and military law, immigration, international trade, international aid, transport, rules of civil procedure, environmental law, and COVID. I also provide legal opinions and legislative assistance to other government lawyers and Departmental clients regarding the legislative process and options for transforming policy into law.
