My area of specialization in psychology is human development and I am familiar with current thinking and research in positive development, well-being and quality of life. These topics feature prominently in both my teaching and research. I have served as Principal Investigator on a number of applied research initiatives involving collaborative partnerships with community organizations. Recent and ongoing projects have focused on applied issues in child and adolescent well-being; dementia; aging; speech-language pathology; and workplace stress. Understanding and enhancing well-being and quality of life for individuals and families have been primary outcomes in these projects. In addition to tutoring Psychology 323 and 350 at AU, my undergraduate teaching has included senior level courses in research methodology, cognitive development, cognitive aging and applied research in Alzheimer’s disease. I also have training in interprofessional education and experience in research ethics.
