Daniel Lovric

I am First Assistant Parliamentary Counsel in the Australian Commonwealth Office of Parliamentary Counsel. In that role my duties include developing and drafting legislation for the federal Parliament of Australia, particularly in the fields of taxation and corporate and financial regulation. Some achievements are:

• leading the drafting team for establishing Australia’s new rules regulating not-for-profit organizations
• leading the drafting team for the ongoing rewrite of Australia’s rules on the taxation of controlled foreign companies
• leading the drafting team for reforms to Australia’s foreign investment review regime
• leading the drafting team for several major Bills as part of the Australian government’s economic stimulus response to the recent global financial crisis
• leading the drafting team for Australia’s rules on the taxation of financial arrangements
• leading the drafting team for rewrites of Australia’s tax rules on ingoing and outgoing capital investment
• drafting Australia’s workplace relations agreements rules
• developing standards for legislation to set up government authorities.
