Anwar (Andy) Khan was born in India but became a refugee in 1947 and took shelter in Pakistan. In addition to being Professor of Legal Studies at Athabasca University, Andy Khan was Director of Research and Chair of Centre for State and Legal Studies. He was the elected President of AUFA for two terms. He wrote and supervised the writing of many legal studies distance education courses. His research was extensive in legal subjects. He published in numerous refereed journals in many countries. He read many papers in international conferences. He was on editorial boards of refereed journals in USA and England. He was an adjunct or visiting professor at University of Western Australia (Perth), University of Leeds (England), Murdoch University (Western Australia) University of Punjab (Pakistan), Leeds Metropolitan University (England) and Curtin University (Western Australia). Before coming to Athabasca University, he had taught at universities in England and Australia. During one period of study leave, after six months pupilage with a former chief justice of Lahore High Court (Pakistan), he was admitted as an Advocate. Andy Khan now resides with his family in Yorkshire, England.
