Undergraduate application process
Athabasca University (AU) has year-round enrolment, with courses starting every month. There is only one formal entrance requirement for online business degree programs: you must be 16 or older.
Step 1: Apply to become an AU student
AU’s application is integrated with the ApplyAlberta application and transcript transfer system. AU also accepts transcripts shared through MyCreds. You will leave our website at some points in the application process and visit an Alberta government site and the ApplyAlberta site.
You only have to apply once. When you receive your student ID, you can register for courses (step 2) as often as you like.
Step 2: Register for your courses
Register by the 10th of any month to officially start your online course on the 1st day of the following month. While you may have to wait until your official start date to submit assignments, you can start working on your online course almost immediately.
In a program? Consult with a program advisor to ensure you are taking the right online courses!
