Michael Mauws completed his PhD in Organizational Analysis at University of Alberta (UA) in 1997. Since joining Athabasca University (AU) in 2004, he has taught courses in Entrepreneurship, Administration, Organization Theory, and Business Strategy. He was also responsible for AU's specialization in the Business of Hockey until its discontinuation in 2022. Outside of academe, he has worked for and advised a wide variety of organizations and also launched several IT businesses of his own. He regularly volunteers for non-profit organizations and currently serves on the boards of Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Society and Glenlake Hockey Association.
Research interests
Michael's current area of interest is personal productivity and, more specifically, the tools and techniques executives and managers can use to be more effective in carrying out their duties.
