111-year-old structure lost to fire

I and many Athabasca University colleagues and community members are saddened today by the loss of the Grand Union Hotel in our home community of Athabasca, a prominent century-old landmark now lost to fire.

The memories of times past are held dear by so many in or close to AU.

Thank you to the first responders and volunteers who worked so tirelessly to keep our community safe.
