Overview

SOCI 425 is designed for advanced students to pursue an extended research project under the direction of the course professor. The research is based on the collection of secondary data sources through library research and other documentary methods. Students will be expected to develop a comprehensive background knowledge in the topic of their choice resulting in a major discussion paper and comprehensive bibliography.

Evaluation

To receive credit for SOCI 425, you must complete all assignments, achieve a course composite grade of at least C- (60 percent) and a grade of 60 percent on the research paper. You must successfully complete a preliminary proposal, two sample reviews, and a research paper. The weighting of the composite grade is as follows:
