Overview

In MATH 365: Calculus—Several Variables, is designed to introduce students to practical applications of calculus to problems in two and three dimensions, and to a theoretical understanding of some aspects of calculus in higher dimensions.

Unit 1: Analytic Geometry in Calculus

Unit 2: Three-dimensional Space; Vectors

Unit 3: Vector-valued Functions

Unit 4: Partial Derivatives

Unit 5: Multiple Integrals

Unit 6: Topics in Vector Calculus

Evaluation

To receive credit for MATH 365, you must submit both of the course assignments and complete them to the satisfaction of your tutor. You must also achieve a grade of at least 50 per cent on each examination, and a course composite grade of at least “D” (50 per cent). The weighting of the composite grade is as follows:

Assignment 1 15%
Midterm Examination 30%
Assignment 2 15%
Final Examination 40%
Total 100%

Challenge Evaluation

To receive credit for the MATH 365 challenge registration, you must complete the two parts of the challenge exam and achieve a minimum grade of at least “D” (50 percent) on both parts. The two parts of the exam must be written on the same day, or on two consecutive days.
