AU students and grads! Share your story and win prizes

Athabasca University has always been different—a disruptor among universities.

From its founding and roots in distance learning in the 1970s to the present day as Canada’s Open University where access, opportunity, and community guide everything we do, AU truly is like no other university.

Just as AU is different, so too are our students and alumni, who come from every corner of Alberta, Canada, and beyond—from every walk of life! Even though online learners are typically self-starters who thrive on their own, they’re part of a much larger, diverse community of knowledge seekers driven to improve their lives and their communities.

Learners Like No Other

To celebrate this remarkable diversity and commitment to learning, we’re launching a new Q&A series, Like No Other: Learners of AU. We’re asking real students and alumni to share how learning at AU has been like no other educational experience, along with a few photos of yourself.

Published stories will appear on AU’s social media channels, as well as on AU News. Each writer of a published story will receive a prize of AU swag!

Share your story to win!

Click on our entry form to answer questions about your education journey and to share photos to accompany your submission. The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. (Mountain) on Feb. 28, 2025.
