National Nursing Week: Thank you, nurses
Working the front-lines is never easy, but working the front-lines during a global pandemic has added an extra layer of risk, work, and exhaustion for nurses around the world.
This year on National Nursing Week, I want to acknowledge, and thank, all nurses for everything they have done and continue to do.
We could never have predicted that the pandemic would still be present more than a year later, but you have selflessly risen to the challenge. As students, educators, nurse researchers, and clinicians, you have shown incredible resilience and adaptability.
Despite the major personal and professional challenges, the ups and downs, the unpredictable nature of the virus, you have managed to hold our health care system together. Your perseverance and tireless efforts are continually evident in all sectors of our society.
You uphold the values of the profession of nursing. I personally thank you for your commitment and wish you the best during this National Nursing Week.
