A pathway to medical school: Webinar hosted by Trinity Medical Sciences University

Date and Time:
December 11, 2024 6:30 pm - December 11, 2024 7:30 pm (Mountain)
Location:
Online
Description:

Athabasca University’s partnership with Trinity Medical Sciences University (TMSU) offers opportunities like no other for AU students pursuing a career in medicine.

Benefits of AU’s partnership with Trinity School of Medicine:

  1. Mini clerkship program
AU learners have the chance to participate in a mini clerkship at TMSU’s teaching hospitals in the United States. This fully funded experience (valued at US$5,000) will give you firsthand experience in the medical field while learning alongside TMSU’s top medical professionals.
  2. Scholarships and financial assistance
TMSU is an approved educational institution outside of Canada, meaning Canadians may now obtain federal and provincial student loans to aid in the cost of attending TMSU. AU students can apply for various scholarships available through TMSU, and TMSU offers student loan options to address the exchange rate gaps between the Canadian and U.S. dollar.
  3. Admissions process
AU students with a minimum of 90 credits (focused on biology, chemistry, and biochemistry) and a 3.1 GPA are eligible to apply. TMSU will interview all qualifying candidates and offer conditional acceptance upon receipt of official transcripts and application. While the MCAT is encouraged, it is not required. Students with a lower GPA will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
