Research assistant – casual position

Start date: Will commence when a suitable candidate is found

Supervisor: Dr. Eliana El Khoury

Faculty: Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

This project will involve communicating with participants and collecting data through interviews.

Specific activities include, but are not limited to:

  • literature review
  • workshop design
  • data collection instrument design
  • project management (data collection, data analysis and interpretation, report writing and preparation of manuscripts for publication)
  • assist with the development and organization of study documentation, forms, and resources
  • regularly meet with the Principal Investigator and/or Research Team

The successful candidate will work with, and directly report to, Dr. Eliana Elkhoury at Athabasca University.

All meetings and individual and collaborative work will be conducted online.

Qualifications

  • Graduate student or graduate degree
  • Experience with qualitative research
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have experience conducting interviews, teaching and using alternative assessments. Knowledge of assessment pedagogies is preferable.
  • Good communication skills required
  • Proficient writing skills
  • Familiarity with qualitative/quantitative methods
