Overview
Criminal Justice 485: Police Management, introduces selected issues and practices that are associated with mid-level police management. The course emphasizes the changing Canadian police environment and the shift that has been occurring in police organizational structures since the mid-1990s.

CRJS 485 is divided into nine units as follows:

Unit 4: Ethics: So What!
Unit 5: Articulating the Service's Character and Direction: Strategic Management

Unit 7: Evaluation: What Are We Looking At and How Should We Measure It?
Unit 8: Risk Management
Unit 9: Future Trends: Succession Management, Police Governance
Evaluation
To receive credit for the course, you must achieve a final exam grade of at least 50 per cent and an overall course composite grade of at least “D” 50 per cent. The weighting of the composite grade is as follows:
